Thermograph: an infrared image depicting the differences in surface temperatures of an object.

IR: Infra - Red

The Birth of Infrared Science

Around 1800 - Sir Fred Hershel plays around with light
& sees the unseeable.
Bingo! Infrared Light AND Uranus.

He also built over 400 telescopes.
The Fredmeister was one smart Dude

A couple of years later FLIR invents this camera which is smarter than Fred
and people start pointing it around at things.

FLIR B360 Infrared Camera

Folks quickly learned that with Infrared images
different temperatures = different colors

New product recently loaded into food cooler

Now everybody had access to heat ray vision and patterns which were previously invisible started to
show up. Problems could be avoided BEFORE they became problems!

Recently stocked meat display cooler with potentially unsafe fluctuating high temps

Plumbers should be thanking Sir Fred, but they don't...

Heating lines in floor easily viewable with infrared camera - less floor to tear up to find leaks / lines

Wherever temperature differences exist, Infrared imagery will display them accurately.

There, now you know enough about thermal imaging to get yourself into trouble!
