This home is approximately 50 years old and shows a few signs of cold air infiltration and thermal loss through less efficient windows & patio doors. Even so, this home is in very good condition for it's age.

This little demonstration still amazes me.
Colder than normal angle
window has reduced thermal insulation value
good insulation as ext. wall only 11/2 degree colder 
cold infiltration at bottom of exterior wall
warmer areas due to chimney
