 Comments:

The temperature variance we were measuring was so small that initially I though our thermal footprints were the hot spots.

After allowing the floor to cool and then restarting the heating loops, we were able to rule out the previous hot spots and eventually locate an abnormally hot location.

Start of test - 24 volts added to system to heat up short - nothing yet visible other than heat signature from fridge and range. Fridge eventually had to be moved as heat imprint was washing out test area.

Loops just starting to show up

Fake hot spots from our feet transferring heat. Two more tests were carried out to eliminate such errors.

Optimal variance measurement showed a hot spot where fridge heat had previously washed out area. See hot spot in upper left hand corner.

Employing rainbow palette gives us the best contrast for this barely noticeable hot spot
