Pricing
Each thermal inspection provides unique circumstances requiring specific responses.
Thermal Optics pricing guidelines are designed to accommodate any business model and we choose the system most cost effective for your application.

Besides the standard effects of our mood, bank balance, and prevalence of hunger pangs, below are various aspects of infrared inspections which will determine your particular rate system.
Initial or follow up inspection?
- Initial inspections require additional time to map image location and / or list equipment to be imaged.
- Follow up inspections utilize previous floor plan / building map requiring less on site time.
Type of Inspection - Building envelop, electrical panels, stucco, industrial, residential?
- Some building envelops require complete exterior wall scan initially and follow up on doors & window openings only
- Buildings come in many sizes. Some demand quotes, some by the image and others can be priced by area
- Stucco & roof imaging may take several images at various atmospheric temperatures to provide best results
- Industrial equipment infrared scans will eventually display trends which enable the thermographer to monitor high risk / high preventative gain areas, reducing imaging time and reporting costs over time
Depth of Inspection
- some inspections require time investment relative to known or suspected damage while others merely confirm the absence of problems.
- Known damage inspections require finer span / level adjustments for maximum image resolution and therefore more investment of time.
- Qualitative versus Quantitative reporting - qualitative focuses on temperature patterns (missing insulation, hot spot in panel) while quantitative reporting provides exacting temperatures on critical components
Rates:
Typical rate systems are:
Quote - normally employed in subcontractor bids & complex inspections
Elapsed Time - Day, half day or hourly rate is utilized when infrared imaging cannot be structured in a specific time frame or when live infrared monitoring is requested
Residential Scans - these inspection prices are based on typical home scans and parameters are described for each.
*** Only anomalies are reported & weekly images are retained in a database to allow for future trend analysis and proof of critical equip- ment proper operation.
Fees include: online report hosted on our website & raw images uploaded to a specific PhotoBucket folder for your access anytime. Links provided by email:
